The American-born shot putter moved to the United Kingdom with her British mother in 2016 and a year later she claimed silver at the British Athletics Championships.

The former microbiology student at Miami University, Ohio went on to represent Team England at on the Gold Coast in 2018 for her Commonwealth Games debut.

The 28-year-old reached the final that summer, later becoming a two-time British champion.

At the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Strickler finish sixth in the shot put, with a throw of 17.18m.
