Mark Wherry competed at Birmingham 2022 as a para lawn bowls director.

He and his grandmother, Sue, were also part of the team at the 2018 Gold Coast Games

They joined the other 16 athletes in Team England’s lawn bowls squad to compete at Leamington Spa.

He found success with para lawn bowler Mark Turnbull and together they won bronze in the pairs event alongside his grandmother and Alison Yearling.

It was a hugely successful campaign at Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park and some thrilling games saw Team England leave the plush lawn with six medals including two gold, two silver and two bronze.
